ELLE MILLER, MA, LMHC
Let Everything Happen To You,
Beauty And Terror,
Just Keep Going No Feeling Is Final
Serving Clients Since 2010
My name is Elle Miller and I am a licensed psychotherapist located in Tacoma, Wa. I provide a compassionate, safe and thoughtful environment for adolescents and adults to work through a variety of concerns.
Being vulnerable and sharing ones experiences can be tremendously daunting and requires feeling supported and safe. I provide a space of non-judgment, compassion, and trust in order to meet my clients where they are. In our sessions you will be able to share your experiences openly without criticism. I will listen, provide feedback, reflections and collaborate with you to work towards change. I will care deeply for you and be my true self with you. My goal is to enable each client to leave therapy with the ability to address the issues that brought them in.
At times, unhealthy thoughts, behavior and feelings can burden us and get in the way of how we want to feel about our selves and our lives. Therapy can provide an avenue for change through the use of various psychotherapy methods and authenticity between the client and therapist.
My approach is integrated and involves utilizing treatments from multiple therapeutic orientations. These are not limited to, but often include: Humanistic/ Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindful Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work in both short and long term therapy format depending on the client.
I believe people are influenced by a combination of their upbringing, biology and social constructs. Each of these areas alone cannot accurately account for an individuals distinguishing actions, thoughts and feelings. However, collaboratively they create a person who is unique from everyone else. Therefore, it is important that your therapy experience is tailored to you as a person; taking into account all parts that make you who you are.
No one has lived your life other than you. That makes you the expert of your life and your experiences. In therapy any changes you make are credited to you and you alone.
I have worked in the mental health field since 2010 providing therapy for children, families, adolescence and adults in community mental health settings, schools and private practice. I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, Seattle. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state. In order to best serve my clients, I stay current in my field through workshops, CEU's and consultation with fellow therapists. I also attend my own therapy as I believe you can best encourage growth in others if you continue to grow yourself.
I have worked with clients on a myriad of issues in my 13 years as a therapist. My primary focus for my private practice has been working with first responders and/or individuals with depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, change in life circumstance, narcissism, difficult interpersonal relationships, and feeling "stuck."
